THE CLOUD HOUSE

The Cloud House Residency was established by Dreamsong co-founders Rebecca Heidenberg and Gregory Smith along with artist Rachel Collier to nurture meaningful connections between visiting artists, writers and curators and the Twin Cities’ vibrant arts community. Providing accommodation and support for individuals working in the field of contemporary art who intend to develop, exhibit or curate new work in Minnesota, the residency is hosted in a cottage located on Dreamsong’s northeast Minneapolis compound.

The Cloud House Residency hosts an individual or two-person creative teams at a time, giving us the flexibility to work closely with each resident to customize their stay. Visiting individuals will be encouraged to seek and nurture connections with various artist communities, stakeholders, and institutions in the Twin Cities. Led by the expertise of its board and its broader networks, The Cloud House will facilitate introductions between residents and local artists, curators, writers, scholars, institutions, arts organizations and galleries.

The Twin Cities and surrounding areas are home to several internationally renowned institutions, including the Walker Art Center, as well as prestigious universities and colleges, thriving community organizations, commercial galleries, and artist-run spaces. By tailoring residents’ visits around the existing Twin Cities arts infrastructure, The Cloud House Residency aims to create lifelong connections that will both benefit visiting artists and strengthen the local arts scene.
